Student Exchange Program in Aarhus University |

|
The first person I met in Aarhus was my mentor Brita. The university assigned some local students to be the mentors for exchange students in order to help them settle down in Aarhus.
A few days later, the program Denmark Today started. Denmark Today is an intensive introductory programme consisting of language and culture courses, social activities and practical guidance for all exchange students to Aarhus University. The purpose of the course is to help students make the best of their stay in Aarhus by providing them with intensive Danish language training as well as an introduction to Danish culture and society. The programme design allows students plenty of opportunities to get to know each other and the beautiful city of Aarhus.
The program was great, not only with an organized introduce on how to survive and study in Denmark ¨C how to get social insurance card, where to buy a cheap bike, how to use the library, understand some basic Danish etc. ¨C and also made us socialized with teachers, local students and international students. The first three weeks in Denmark was colorful and happy with friends from Denmark Today although the sky was always gray. We visited museums, town hall, and local organizations such as the biggest dairy product factory Arla Food. We also had a great interaction with reporters in Jyllands-Posten ¨C the biggest press in Jytland. After the program, we had better understanding of Denmark. But the biggest harvest was the friendship we formed in Denmark Today.
This three weeks¡¯ program is free for exchange students in Aarhus University. The attendance was noticed and we could only get the certificate if we had more than 80% attendance. The Danish language course can be graded if required by the home university of the exchange students. |
