leaner. To see the source of this photo, click here.
My name is CHEONG SIEW ANN, I obtained my Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the National University of Singapore in Sep 1997, and then did an Accelerated Masters Programme from Jul 1997 to Aug 1998. After many delays, I finally obtained my Masters of Science from NUS in Sep 2000.
Since Aug 1998, I am working towards a PhD in Physics in Cornell University,
Ithaca, New York, USA.

I was born in 1969, which makes me about 28 years old, in the Kadang Kerbau Hospital (which is going to move into a brand new building next to its present site), Singapore. I attended Ama Keng Primary School at Lim Chu Kang, and later went to the Chinese High School for my secondary education. Before serving my National Service, I did my GCE 'A' Levels preparation at Hwa Chong Junior College (JC1 at Bukit Timah campus, first three months of JC2 at Bukit Timah campus, one month at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and the rest of JC2 at Woodlands i.e. the big shift).
For my national service, I went to Infantry Training Camp (ITC) at Pulau Tekong Camp III, on whereelse but Pulau Tekong(!!) for my Basic Military Training (BMT). After the three months' "exile", I returned to mainland Singapore, but only to go into "quasi-exile" at the Pasir Lebar Camp for Infantry Section Leader Course at SAFINCOS (now renamed to something else). After my post-out to 1st People Defence Forces (PDF) Command HQ at Sembawang, I signed a service contract with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and got re-posted to the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF). Life there was boring, so I broke contract after my NS liability is up and enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) course at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1993.
