Special Programme in Science (SPS)

SPS Duties

With great power comes great responsibility. In this case, said power comes in the form of a table or locker. The duties are as follows:

Sweep Wooden Corridor/ Library

  • Obtain Broom and Dustpan from SPS cleaning store (near entrance)
  • Sweep up dust and debris along the main SPS Wooden Corridor
  • Empty the dustpan into a dustbin outside SPS room
  • Please invert the broom when returning it to the store, else the bristles will be deformed

Vacuum Living Room/Seminar Room

  • If the ground is not too dusty, using a broom to sweep is sufficient
  • If necessary, sweep up obvious large debris using a broom first (large debris may clog up the suction)
  • Obtain vacuum cleaner from SPS cleaning store (near entrance)
  • Living Room: please vacuum under tables and sofa as well
  • Seminar Room: Tidy up the computer table as well
  • Return vacuum cleaner to the cleaning store
  • If the vacuum cleaner doesn’t seem to have enough suction power, it may be necessary to change the dust bag

Clear Library and Seminar Room

  • Library: reading tables, computer tables, printing table and the benches (along the glass wall), and Seminar room: back tables, computer table and seats
  • Throw away any obvious rubbish
  • Use duster (take from cleaning store) to sweep dust off the tables, chairs and benches, into the mini dustpan (also from cleaning store)
  • Empty excess waste paper at the printer table into a paper recycling bin
  • Deposit lost and found items into the lost-and-found-box

Clear Dining Area, Common Tables & Sofa

  • Remove all expired food from the SPS fridge (both inside and on top) and dining table
  • Arrange the items inside and on top of the fridge neatly
  • Throw away any obvious rubbish on the Long Tables and Sofa
  • Use duster (take from cleaning store) to sweep dust off the tables and sofa, into the mini dustpan (also from cleaning store)
  • Deposit lost-and-found items into the lost-and-found-box
